![]() Since 1985, George has been Company Director of an import/export/domestic business, importing from the Far East and South Asia, including Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, China, South Korea, Thailand, and LDC’s Pakistan, India, Nepal, Myanmar (in a politically responsible manner), and Sri Lanka. He has set up a joint venture company in Nepal. The goods include (fair trade) local manufacture and invention. The company also exports worldwide, including: EC, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, UAE, Turkey, Lebanon, Israel, Russian Federation, Kazakhstan, Romania, Latvia, Croatia, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Pakistan, Egypt, Nigeria. His development interests cover South & Southeast Asia, focussing on small & micro development projects and small scale, grass-root commercial enterprises. He established (2002), and is UK manager of the ongoing education project in Chalish village, Dhading Province, Nepal. George was also Trustee & Chair of the UKJAID ‘Project Group’ (1996–2003), Member of executive committee & Chair ‘Project Group’ WJAID (2003 to present), and reported on UKJAID work in Sarajevo. His research interests include migration and development, Nepal (MSc Dissertation). |
