DEVRA is an association of professionals with long standing personal and professional connections to each other and who have expert knowledge of the international development sector. It includes professionals from the fields of community development, international business, culture and heritage, human rights and conflict resolution, education, health and social development, as well as engineering, urban planning and architecture. Team members have worked as advisors to major foundations, European and international agencies, national governments and community organisations. DEVRA’s associates also have inside knowledge of the British and European NGO sectors. DEVRA aims to provide professional advice on international development and civil society projects to philanthropic organisations and serve four main functions

DEVRA developed as an idea in 2006 when experts formerly associated with the UK-based organisation World Jewish Relief noted an important expansion in the European philanthropic sector and the growing support for greater inter-faith cooperation in the delivery of aid and assistance to all. DEVRA is non-sectarian in practice but was inspired by the Jewish ethics of healing the world, solidarity and supporting the poor and needy. |
